Adobe announced today that Creative Suite 5, the next version of its flagship suite of products, would ship on April 12th, just a few weeks away.

A few months ago, Apple announced a breakthrough new product called the iPad. It will go on sale April 3rd, but just a few minutes after that announcement back in January, Apple’s web site looked like this:
Sometimes, I wonder why so few companies seem to understand basic marketing principles. If you have a new product, and you have one shot, via a press release, to get people interested in finding out more about it, you HAVE TO have the web site updated the second the press release goes out. You just do. End of discussion.
It’s as if Adobe is admitting it has nothing great to say with the CS5 release. So go ahead and buy CS4 now, so you can feel like a heel in a couple of weeks when the new version comes out.
